When Austereo moved into it's new premises in the World Tower in Sydney, the multiple benefits of the two year, $10 million fit-out, came down to one thing: energising it's people. One thing is true: it would be difficult to mistake the company's new premises as anything other than a radio station, given the studios are situated slap bang in the middle of the office floor.
The was not true of the company's old premises in Sydney's eastern suburbs, says Patrick Joyce, General Manager Operations, of the $700 million dollar radio company. For Stan Begas, Director of Technology and Finance at Initiative Media, one of Australia's top media agencies, large-scale change was nothing new.
It was mid-November 2001. Just over a year before, the company had shed the name Merchant & Partners, which it had operated under for the past 25 years, in line with the company's global brethren.
